TRAFALGAR HOUSE BUSINESS PARKS MANAGEMENT
Trafalgar House Business Parks (THBP) was a major
subsidiary of the Trafalgar House group, specialising in developing business parks and
industrial estates. I was a director of THBP for 4 years from 1990, running a development
team and taking responsibility for corporate marketing, 'new business' and projects
undertaken jointly with Ideal Developments Ltd.
PROJECTS
- Responsible for construction and marketing of Ancells
Business Park at Fleet, Hants., a major 280,000 sq. ft. infrastructure led development, at
Ancells Business Park at Fleet, Hants.
- Promotion of 1000 acres of infrastructure led,
rail-linked, industrial and freight park at Hams Hall, Birmingham, in partnership with
Powergen. This is now home to, inter alia, the BMW Engine plant.
- Responsible for completing and marketing of Southfields
Business Park Basildon in a partnership with the Development Corporation (90,000 sq ft).
Secured letting of majority to Ford (UK) Ltd.
- Responsible for resolving complex management & legal
problems as a precursor to disposals at Merseyside Enterprise Trading Park, Speke,
Liverpool (103 acres, approx. 2,000,000 sq ft plus); and at Blackwater Industrial Estate,
Camberley, Surrey (112,000 sq ft).
- Responsible for planning, infrastructure and marketing
Northavon Park, Thornbury , Bristol (14 acre infrastructure led mixed use scheme),
Cherwell Park, Banbury (7 acre office and warehouse scheme) and Trafford Park, Manchester
(10 acre industrial development) Also completing and marketing Vanwall Business Park,
Maidenhead.
- Responsibility for the rationalisation, marketing and
disposal of development sites inherited by Trafalgar House through the takeover of the
Davy Group in 1991 (Warrington, Stockton, Billingham, Hartlepool).
IDEAL
DEVELOPMENTS LTD
Represented THBP on the Board of IDL, which brought
together the residential and commercial arms of the Trafalgar House Group to pursue large,
long term strategic schemes, including Portbury Park , Bristol. [Initial layout planning,
renegotiation of acquisition, and major motorway junction, road and drainage works for 45
acre commercial scheme forming part of a 400 acre mixed development to be undertaken with
Tarmac and Crest]
